Ally's Column of Randomness-"Foodies in Adventurous Seattle"-8/17/10

Hello everyone! I'm going to tell you about our trip to Seattle, WA. Gosh, it was very un-scheduled. We mostly went to places with little planning. We went to Sculpture Park, which had many different sculptures, the Seattle Library (which was super huge), we saw Chihuly art (which is like blown up glass art, real pretty)! We also went to the Snoqualme Falls, Lakewold Gardens, Wing Luke Museum, Boeing Museum, Blue Angels Sea Fair (where we saw the airplanes fly!!!), Arboretum where we saw different plants, we went to Mt. Rainer National Park; we also had dessert mostly everyday! Haha, that part was cool. On the first day, we had Safeway gelato(flavors were lemon, creme brulee, coffee mocha, and chocolate); the second day we had frozen yogurt(the flavor was pretty good! It was acai berry and chocolate); Molly Moon's Ice Cream (my flavor was balsamic strawberry. Mom's was salted caramel. REALLY SALTY! Like the ocean :D); and we went to a place called Old School Frozen Custard (where I had a wild berry smoothie. Yummers!) Oh we went to this HECKA GOOD ITALIAN PLACE! IF YOU GO TO SEATTLE, GO TO SPINASSE! REAL GOOD ITALIAN FOOD! I loved their food! Best Italian food ever! Sorry I'm repeating myself. Haha! :D

Oh also, Josh thought he saw an actor, Andre Stolka, in this radio drama called "Adventures in Odyssey", but it was some random guy. We "spyed" on him, but he was younger, and less fat. So technically, he was wrong. Nice try, Josh, though.

So all the places I went to in Seattle were awesome! I recommend them all to those who want to go to Seattle or Washington!

So now, my editor is now forcing me to write about my take on a current event. Today I will talk about food. Dude, we made crepes yesterday for breakfast filled with nutella (it was like a brunch), and today we made french toast(which was also like a brunch. Haha.) Today I also made a salad for my dad's cousins, Karen and Rob Magovern, who are coming over to my Grandma's house today. I made Mandarin Orange Salad with Carmelized Almonds. Really yummy!

And for my last paragraph of this column today, I'm gonna talk about Adventure City. I'm the associate producer with Natalie Hamada. We have a website for the movie. If you want to go to it, go to adventurecityproject.blogspot.com. It sounds interesting. Here are the main characters that you can audition for:

Ben: the leader of the gang, serious and would sometimes lighten up, an orphan
Takumi: Asian kid who has interests in dancing, purple, and laughing
Charlotte: A tall, loud, but sweet high schooler, who's big mouth gets her in trouble a lot
James: muscular, popular, pretty boy, big ego (now I'm laughing while I'm typing this. Hahahahahaha!)
Kristie: spunky tomboy who's interested in technology, animals and sports, but still tries to show off a girly side.

So wait until you hear the audition dates if you want to audition! Well it's time for me to end. Bye bye! And keep checking back on the website, as I'll try to post more often.

  1. Great hearing about your trip. Seattle is so beautiful with water everywhere. Desserts sound just perfect. Eat desserts first cause one doesn't know what might happen!
